a positively nihilistic experience
Now that the feeling is returning to all the extremities, and the throat pain from too many cigars and fog machines has subsided, as we slurp down our last illicitly ...

about SOFAWRECK
recordings
Sofawreck Recordings was launched on September 23rd 2008 as an outlet for experimental music, based in Austin, Texas. Both electronic and electroacoustic music will find a home here, and we hope to have 5-6 releases a year.
The music you find here is mostly free of charge. We make
each album available as high quality mp3s on the site free to
download. They are still under the copyright of the artists. We
understand that if you want a friend to hear something from Sofawreck
you may just hand them a cdr, or send it to them over aim an instant messaging service. We
encourage you to send those people to the site. It is good to know
how many people are listening to the music, and they can get more
information about what they are listening to.
There will also be cds pressed for some releases with full quality audio, and these will sell for $10US postage paid in the US, $14US shipped worldwide. We may include bonus tracks on the CDs otherwise unavailable. Yes, this is a sales tactic. We want you to buy CDs because we have to make money somehow, and playing live shows is not going to cut it. Also, CDs sound better. We'd like you to hear everything the artist put into it. Shirts and other goods may also be available from time to time (we like merch).
Also, we shamelessly accept $2-$5 (or more) donations to support an album if you don't want to buy a CD or can't afford a CD, but love the album and want to support the artist. Although we appreciate any donation you offer, please don't go lower than $2. We accept payment via paypal and payments under $2 are mostly going to be going to fees. If you don't like paypal, send us pictures of discarded or wrecked sofas, do a review in your blog, or hand out literature at the airport praising us. (Or send us meat in KoL.)
The label takes off the whole month of November for Nanowrimo. So go write a novel while listening to our already released recordings, and come back for the bonus winter holiday tracks.
We hope it will be fun, and we hope we can pay for the bandwidth. Stay in touch.
